Jim Spink mediates civil cases throughout New England from his office in Vermont.
Jim combines the experience of a seasoned courtroom lawyer with the skill set of a mediator who has conducted over 3,500 mediations in civil disputes. As a neutral, Jim draws upon his ability to listen effectively, remain patient and respectful, and work with all participants to achieve the shared objective of settlement.
Elected to fellowship in the American College of Trial Lawyers (2004), Jim was chosen by his peers as an accomplished litigator. He has tried over 125 civil cases in court.
Jim began mediating civil cases in the early 1990s and has now conducted well over 3,500 mediations of every description in Vermont and across New England.
Jim has been honored by his peers as a Fellow of the ACTL and as a Diplomate of the NADN (Nat. Assn. of Distinguished Neutrals). He has been repeatedly recognized by The Best Lawyers in America, including “Lawyer of the Year” (2011 and 2013 for ADR and 2020-2021 for Mediation, Burlington, Vermont). He has also been recognized by Chambers USA (litigation) and Super Lawyers in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution. He is rated “AV” by Martindale-Hubbell (Preeminent, Peer-Review Rated).
